"For the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to Him." 2 Chr. 16:a
This will never change.
God continually searches the earth to both find and hear those whose faith and hope is in Him.
For this reason each of us should be conscious of His presence and cause Him to rejoice as He finds us seeking ways to please and glorify Him with our life.
This is precisely what Jesus said. "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good work, and glorify the Father Who is in heaven." Mt.5:16
A pulpit on a platform is not required to make your witness known for Christ.
As a matter of fact, many more will see your witness "as you go" than anytime you stand up to preach or teach.
Church attendance is exceedingly low this day and time, but on the other hand there has not been a better time to shine for Jesus in the street, on the job, at the restaurant, or in your classroom
Our life is our witness.
Is it shining for Jesus?

"But if you turn away and forsake the decrees and commands I have given you and go off to serve other gods and worship them, then will I uproot Israel from My land which I have given them and will reject this temple I have consecrated for My name." 2 Chr. 7:19-20
Obviously God was speaking to Israel.
The passage clearly identifies them.
But...through faith in Christ as personal Savior and Lord all men have received the privilege of being Children of God.
That includes us, and so do the warnings of God about forsaking Him as the custom of many has become in America in this twenty-first Century.
Faithfulness to the church has dropped enormously, and continues to do so.
We are in rebellion against God.
We have rejected the church.
But there is hope. God said so.
"If my people who are called my name shall humble themselves and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land." 2 Chr. 7:14

"If I announce that a nation or a kingdom is to be uprooted, torn down and destroyed, AND IF THAT NATION I WARNED REPENTS OF ITS EVIL, then I will relent and not inflict upon it the disaster I had planned." Jer. 18:7-8
Ancient Nineveh was doomed because of her sinfulness, bur repenting people stayed the hand of God.
The eyes of the same God are upon America today.
Does He love us less than He loved Nineveh?
If we had no other proof of His mercy and grace, this alone should be enough to teach us the value of repenting and returning to Him in confession and repentance of our sin.
If we who know do not do this, who will?
God said, "If MY PEOPLE who are called by My name shall humble themselves and pray and seek My face, THEN will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land." Mal. 7:14

"Do men make their own gods? Yes, but they are not gods." Jer. 16:20
How sad that God had to declare this truth about His highest creation; man..
Men making their own gods instead of trusting and worshipping Him.
More than 1800 of them!
That's how many false gods populate the United States of America today.
Sounds preposterous, but someone has numbered them.
Doesn't change a thing, however, as far as Jehovah God is concerned. He declared through Jeremiah many years ago that all but He are not gods at all.
Aren't you thankful that with little children you, too can sing, "Oh, how I love Jesus. Oh, how I love Jesus. O, how I love Jesus, because He first loved me."
Among all the blessings you count, count this the greatest; that Jesus is God; the One you worship as Savior and Lord!.

"I the Lord search the heart and examine the mind, to reward a man according to his conduct, according to what his deeds deserve." Jer. 17:10
Always will remember the admonition of my mother even when very young.
She would say, "Now you behave yourself", especially when she bid me goodbye on my way to school as a six year old.
And, when I didn't and got in trouble, she'd say, "I told you to behave yourself", and that was a sure sign the switch was coming.
Thank God for those days, and for parents who cared enough to "learn me", as they would say!!
They learned this from God. He says the same thing in the passage above, spoken by the prophet Jeremiah.
As a nation we'd be much better off with more parents like those.
Thank God if this caused you to think of your's.
You are blessed!

"..blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in Him." Jer. 17:7
Succinct, to the point, very clear.
Jeremiah, in just over a dozen words shared an invaluable truth; those who trust God and put their confidence in Him will be blessed.
Who wouldn't like that promise?
Chances are you have on your person either a coin or currency that quietly reminds you, "In God We Trust".
Ever thought about using a penny or a dollar bill to share your faith with someone?
Just hold it in your hand and ask your friend to read what is written, and then ask, "Is this true for you?"
The day in which we live lacks for those willing to share this truth. It's inoffensive, quick to recite (or share), and the dividends for doing do are GUARANTEED BY GOD!
Try it and see.
Perhaps first, on yourself!!

"But all who devour you will be devoured, all your enemies will go into exile. Those who plunder you will be plundered; all who make spoil of you I will despoil. The people who survive the sword will find favor in the desert; I will come give rest to Israel." Jeremiah 30:16 & 31:2b
Nothing is more obvious than the favor yet to be shown to Israel.
Take heart that the Bible guarantees the people of God will not perish, but will thrive again on this very earth.
One who knows Christ as Savior will one day walk in the Holy Land without fear and rejoice as if "Eden blooms again".
Eternal life encompasses one thousand years on planet earth.
What a thought!
She will blossom and bloom as in the days of Adam and Eve in their innocence, and THEN...comes HEAVEN!!.
Take heart tonight when you hear the reporter say, "That's the final news."
Not so.
The Final story has already been been spoken by God!

"And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. Micah 6:8b,c
To flesh out the requirements of God are possible but one way.
One must be inborn by the Spirit of God which comes with the second birth; that time when Jesus becomes one's Savior and Lord.
Could not this be the reason that only those who have received Christ as Lord and Savior become filled with the Holy Spirit and meet the requirement of God spoken of by the prophet Micah?
What false prophet walks humbly, acts justly and loves mercy?
Jesus did.
None else ever have...........or will
.........except He.

"Am I a god who is only in one place, asks the Lord? Do they think I cannot see what they are doing? Can anyone hide from Me? Am I not everywhere in all the heavens and earth, asks the Lord?
Think of God's questions, above, being asked every person embracing a false religion..
The spiritual darkness covering them does not hide them from God's plain sight.
Eternity will prove there is but one God, and His name is Jehovah.
And His Son, Jesus, is the only Savior.
The one who confused this matter is Satan, the author of lies.
Jesus overcame Him by rising from the dead and ascending to heaven.
Not only victorious over death, Hell, the grave, but CONFUSION!!
Let what Jesus made simple remain that way...
Believe on Him, and be saved.

"It is better to take refuge in the Lord that to trust in man." Ps. 118:8
How many times has God failed to keep His promise?
The answer to that question reveals why Jesus said, "Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you." Matt. 6:33
Nothing one can do is more important than trusting God.
He will never forsake you..................GURANTEED!
David knew from experience that it is better to take refuge in God than the fickleness of man.
When God says it, THAT SETTLES IT!
You will always be glad you listened to Him, no matter what you've got to decide.

"Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me." Ps. 51:10
GOD CAN DO ANYTHING WE ALLOW HIM TO DO!!!
This includes giving us a brand new heart while still clothed in human flesh.
God relishes in "spiritual heart transplants".
What would you like to accomplish in keeping with the Word and Will of God?
Never doubt it; all things are possible with God.
The process begins when we seek God with all our heart, mind, soul and being.
It is not a "name and claim it" promise.
It is a guarantee that when we seek God first, He fills in the blanks.
After all, who better than He knows precisely what we need?

Do you sense the need of God's counsel?
:"Cast your cares on the Lord and He will sustain you; He will never let the righteous fall. But You, O God, will bring down the wicked into the pit of corruption; bloodthirsty and deceitful men will not live out half their days. But as for me, I trust in You." Ps. 55:22-23
To say that the Bible is timely, one only needs to take these words of David and meditate on them for a season.
These days are troublesome, but none of the headlines have taken God by surprise, therefore we would be well advised to meditate upon His Word and be sustained by His steadfastness as we seek to live by faith.
The whole world needs a witness that God is not dead, nor does He sleep.
Consider that it indeed may be we whom He has determined to be His voice and guide to a world in great trouble.
CAST YOUR CARES UPON HIM, and someone watching will be encouraged to do the same.

"Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you." Heb. 13:5,c
It's a promise from God, therefore you can "take it to the bank".
More so than in our history, America is walking away from God. Less than 5% of established churches are numerically prospering.
Why are we deserting Him?
It is not a rhetorical question, but one that needs to reach way down deep into our heart and reverberate loudly.
Leaving God out is the most serious mistake America will have ever made, and history proves this unequivocally.
Many nations that "were" are "no more".
We are on our way to being there.
Need proof?
Between 9 and 12 most Sunday mornings count the cars around the restaurants and those around the churches.

Valentine's day is Saturday. (Still time to buy that box of sweets, or at least a card)
Why mention this?
Because, even though the Bible does not specifically mention such a day, the thought of love transcends it from Genesis through Revelation. It's ALL about God's love of man.
Jesus said the greatest commandment is "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your mind. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as you love yourself."(Mt.22:37-38)
Surprisingly, at least to me, is that it was Peter, and not John, the disciple of love, who said, "Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers a multitude of sins.? 1 Pet. 4:8
Think about it; the first nationally recognized celebration following New Year's day is all about love.
That's good, because the Bible says "God is Love".
He so loved us He sent His Son to demonstrate it.
What plans for expressing love do you have ?

In Matthew 8:23 we read, "Then He got into the boat and his diciples followed Him". In 9:9 Matthew continued, "And Jesus went up from there". The same thing was said about Him in verse 27, "As Jesus went on". Then. in verse 35 we read, "Jesus went through the towns and villages.."
Our Lord had a pedestrian mentality which caused me to remember a devotional written by a pastor friend in which he made the statement, "The journey is as important as the destination".
The disciples of Jesus would be the first to agree totally with that statement.
Their daily walk with the Lord was priceless. It was their seminary training.
As I thought about the destination I realized afresh the fantastic privilege each of us has as we, like those disciples, walk with Jesus in our daily life.
Something suddenly dawned upon my mind as I realized that all these years, by God's grace, I have been learning as I get to where I am going.
That simple thought overwhelmed me with joy.
From now on.....sweeter as the days go by.

"He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father Who sent Him." John 23:b
It is amazing the number of "religions" world-wide, but only one that teaches God the Father and God the Son are one and the same.
But truly, it is not amazing at all.
Rather, it is God's goodness and kindness poured out on all mankind.
Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No man comes to the Father, except through Me."
If this was not the case there would be total confusion throughout the world as to which "god" is the One God.
His name is Jehovah, and Jesus is His only Son.
The Bible says so."For God so loved the world He send His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16
The Bible does not contradict itself.
God is not the "author of confusion".
Guess who is?

"As you go, preach this message: The kingdom of heaven is near." Mt. 10:7
As Jesus taught His disciples they went forth with the message of salvation in His name.
His philosophy of teaching has never changed, nor has His command.
We are called to go and tell Who He is, Why He came, and to invite and encourage all to receive Him as Lord and Savior.
The message is for all, because "Jesus came to die for sinners, to forgive all who repent of their sin and receive Him as their personal Lord and Savior.
Few, if any, do not want to go to heaven to spent eternity.
But the only way there is through Jesus.
He is not willing that any should perish, therefore whosoever will may receive Him. It's one's own will.
The willingness to repent of sin, receive Christ to be born again, follow Him in baptism and publicly worship Him as Lord and Savior.
THAT'S the message He both died and arose to give freely your salvation and eternal life in heaven.
It's not complicated. But it is THE ONLY WAY. He is NOT THE AUTHOR OF CONFUSION.

"But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash." Mt. 7:26-27
I preached from this passage in my home church on Youth Week Sunday morning, March 1951.
I have changed much. The Word has not.
Why?
Because God said, "I change Not".
It's a fact that from my age 17 till now I have changed considerably.
God is the same.
Thank Him for His steadfast fidelity.
In my small library there are many translations of the Bible. The message has remained the same; just clearer as well taught theologians have understood better what God has said.
No matter which translation you prefer, God still so loves the world He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life.
THAT'S WHAT'S PARAMOUNT.

I am "mature" enough to have seen first-hand much of the 20th and now the 21st Century.
"No bones about it", God is not pleased in being unheeded and ignored.
He said, "I CHANGE NOT.".
Because of this promise, by His grace, WE CAN CHANGE.
And we must.
We say, "In God We Trust".
Is there evidence to back up the claim?

"If My people. who are called by My name shall humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land." 2 Chr. 7:14
Make time to do what God said to His people in another day so similar to our own.
Furrowed brows and wringing hands will not make things one bit better, but bowed heads, broken hearts and contrite spirits submitted to God in confession of sin will result in His forgiveness.
You almost certainly will not hear this on tv as you search for answers to the problems that beset us as a nation..
But in your secret quiet place alone with God He will see your tears and broken spirit, hear your confessions and heal your broken heart.
It's His promise, just as you see in the verse, above..
Do not defer receiving it by postponing what in you heart you know you is right to do.
